Market Rules

  1. Please arrive at least an hour prior to the market. Be set up and ready to sell by market time. If your vehicle does not arrive by a half-hour prior to market time you will not be allowed to participate that day. Vehicles MUST be removed 30 minutes prior to markets. Fees will NOT be carried over if you miss the market. Tear down may commence at the end of market. Market committee may adjust market hours, as they deem necessary.
  •  Please send photos of your items and booth, after you have submitted your application for approval.
  •  Along with submitting your application you must pay your membership fee of $75 to be considered for approval. Please DO NOT pay your vendor fee until you receive an invitation email with instructions.

  1. You must remove trash. Bring a broom if necessary to clean your area during and/or after market.
  1. You may only bring to sell what has been approved prior to market. If you want to bring a new item you must make a request in writing to Market manager prior to bringing it.
  2. You must handle your own taxes and health permits. Texas State sales tax ID number and proof of same. A permit is required by the Harris County Health Department. It must be sent in with payment two weeks prior to the first market if you are sampling, cutting or selling prepared foods. Please check their requirements to see if this applies to you. 
  3. Booth spaces shall be on a first-come, first-served basis according to approval of application and fee payment, with these exceptions:
  4. Fifty-one percent of all spaces will be reserved for Texas vendors in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Department of Agriculture.
  5. Two or more vendors will be farmers growing their own produce in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Department of Agriculture.
  6. All agricultural products sold must be of merchantable quality produce in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Department of Agriculture and all applicable Health and Safety regulations.
  7. Please take into consideration that you are part of your display. We aim for a clean, attractive look at Your Neighborhood Farmers Markets Association® (YNFMA). Canopy is required due to sun/heat or rain. It’s MANDATORY you bring some type of weights, bottles of sand or water to weigh down and ringing a box of trash bags or roll of flexible clear plastic in case of rain to cover you merchandise if necessary. Battery operated lighting. It’s best to be prepared.
  8. Produce must be identified with signs as follows:
  9. Self-grown, organic, supplemental
  10. Conventional – is on your own farm or in your garden
  11. Organic – is bio dynamically grown
  12. Conventional/supplemental – is when you grow your own and bring produce from a neighboring farm, bought from other farmers, or picked by you from another farm. It may not be purchased from a store, produce house, etc.
  13. A sign with your company name is great, and customers know whom to look for when they come back. A Banner or sign for the street booth with logo and letters can also be displayed.
  14. The spirit of commerce and fair pricing are recommended.
  15. No smoking in booths by vendors. Health Department Rules.
  16. Any disruptive behavior by booth operator and/ or their employees will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave and not be able to sell until permission is granted by the market manager to return. No dissemination of fliers, posters, signage, etc. is permitted without prior approval of managers in writing. 
  17. All vendor must receive an invite to attend any markets. We are a VIP market which allow the sponsoring community commissioner choose which vendors they want to attend their private market
  18. Vendor agrees to remit payment to Your Neighborhood Farmers Market.
  19. Vendor will remit payment in advance to guarantee booth space, please click here or remit to market manager during event, if instructed by YNFM.
  20. Refunds. YNFMA will not refund any booth payments made. The Market is open rain or shine and unfavorable weather does not warrant a refund or a credit to any vendor. Vendors who fail to set up in a pre-paid booth space by market set time on any event day during the Term have forfeited that booth space and any booth paid in advance.
  21. Event Sale Hours/Clean Up. Vendor may not arrive or set up any earlier than set time. VENDORS ARE NOT TO SET-UP UNTIL A MARKET MANAGER ARRIVE! IF VENDOR DO SO WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND FORFEIT ALL FEES. Vendor’s booth space must be fully set up by set time. Vendor must operate at the fully set up booth space set-time on each day of the Market during the Term. Vendor shall be responsible for final clean up of the Stall including complete removal of all tables, boxes, tent, chairs, products and equipment used for clean-up purposes and any other materials used for the sale or display of any and all merchandise, no later than set-time on each Market day. Vendor is responsible to pick up and remove from the premises their own trash and other waste. Vendors are required to stay at the market until it closes.
  22. Vendors will be suspended from the Market if they fail to arrive on time and be set up by set-time.
  23. Safety/Rules and Regulations. Vendor shall take all reasonable precautions for the safety of its employees, workers, volunteers and all customers and visitors shopping in the Market Area and around its booth. Vendors shall comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and lawful orders of the Market Manager OR any City of Houston/Harris official bearing on the safety or protection of persons or property located on or near the Market Area, and in or around the booth space.
  24. Vendor shall comply and cause its employees and assistants to comply with any reasonable rules and regulations established by the YNFM, including but not limited to the Market Place Rules and Regulations. Vendor hereby acknowledges they have read the rules by checking the box on the application. YNFM may change or alter the Rules as it deems necessary or appropriate for the overall good of the Market Area.
  25. Licenses & Permits: Vendor may only use the booth for the sale of those items designated on the application and on unless otherwise permitted in writing by YNFMA.Vendors, at its own expense, shall maintain all necessary and proper licenses, permits, certificates and authorizations required by law and conform to all such licenses, permits and authorizations and the requirements of any duly authorized official acting in connection therewith. Vendor shall maintain it’s permitting and license status with the state of Texas, if Vendor decide to change any status shall promptly notify YNFMA and provide all copies.
  26. Insurance Coverage. All Vendors must carry personal liability insurance, liability insurance, product liability insurance or any necessary insurance needed. Proof of such insurance coverage shall be provided to YNFMA.
  27. Indemnification. Vendor shall defend, indemnify and hold YNFM any parents, affiliates, principals, agents and employees of either and both, and any other owners harmless from any against any and all claims whatsoever arriving in any way out of Vendor’s acts or omissions in, on and about the Market Area and the activities therein.
  28. Assignment. Booth spaces shall be on a first-come, first-served basis according to approval of application, fee payment, and deemed by the YNFMA with these exceptions: i. Fifty-one percent of all spaces will be reserved for Texas vendors in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Department of Agriculture. ii. Two or more vendors will be farmers growing their own produce in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Department of Agriculture. Booth space assignments and allocations are at the discretion of YNFMA. The Market Manager, or designee, will assign booth spaces to best accommodate vendors, booths, and vehicles to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of patrons in the best interests of the Market. Vendors will provide their own shade structure, tables, chairs, signs, refrigeration and storage.
  29. Termination. This Agreement shall automatically terminate if Vendor does not timely pay booth fee or fails to fully comply with any of the terms of this Agreement. In addition, YNFMA shall have the right to terminate this Agreement upon seven (7) days written notice to Vendor if YNFMA receives three (3) or more complaints about a Vendor’s product, performance or conduct during the Term.
  30. Vendor’s Exclusive Remedy. Vendor acknowledges and agrees that its sole and exclusive remedy under this Agreement against YNFM for any reason shall be to require YNFM to refund rental charges not earned by the YNFM. Vendor waives any and all other rights or remedies which might be available in equity or in law, including the right to seek damages whether special, incidental, consequential or otherwise.
  31. Attorney’s Fees. If any party hereto shall bring any suit or other action against another for relief, declaratory or otherwise, arising out of this Agreement, the losing party shall pay the prevailing party’s reasonable costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs. The parties have caused this Agreement to be executed by their duly authorized representatives on the initial sign-up date set forth.

Applicant agrees upon checking the box on the application and submission of their application to be bound by these policies, rules, and procedures and will abide by them.

Applicants checking the box on the application will hereby release and hold harmless all associates of Your Neighborhood Farmers Market and its sponsoring organizations beneficiaries and all employees volunteers or associates of above from any and all responsibility, personal liability claims, including but not limited to theft, personal injury, public enemy, acts of God or other unforeseen circumstances beyond its control and to indemnify them for any damage arising from applicants’ or associates, guests participation in any of the Your Neighborhood Farmer’s Market LLC Events. Applicant agrees to keep in force a general liability policy and to notify Your Neighborhood Farmers Market of any changes to insurance policies, residence, licensing and other relevant information.

CALL FOR ARTISTS/Specialty Product

  • To participate we would like artists to create new work in any medium. All work must be suitable for family audiences.
  • Artwork must show a mark of the hand. Only original work will be accepted.
  • Artists that are accepted must be present during market times. You may substitute a family member or friend occasionally if the need arises.
  • Limited editions will be allowed.
  • Artwork will be displayed at the artist ‘s own risk. Your Neighborhood Farmers Market and the City of Houston are not responsible for damage, loss or theft.
  • Booth space is 10×10 and you must provide your own tent and tables. Any booth walls must be sturdy, free standing, and presentable. Demonstrations are encouraged. All clean-up is the artist’s responsibility. If electricity is necessary please indicate exactly what you need. We have a limited amount of plugs. An additional charge may be required for power.
